Travel to Koh Kood


Location: The last island located at the end of Trat Sea, 80 km. away from Leam Ngob
How to go get there: The best way to tour round Koh Kood is buying the package tour of the resorts which provide all facilities and boat service. It take about 1 hour to the island. Tourists should contact the resort for more information. For tourists who don't want to buy a package tour can take a public boat or speed boat provided by Koh Kood. You can also take Siriwhite speedboat at Leam Sok pier, 24 km. from Trat town.
   The most beautiful island of Trat Sea is given to Koh Kood. As the island is far away from others, the natural environment is in perfect condition, unspoiled by tourism. It's not surprising that why the tourists consider the island as the east Andaman.
    Koh Kood was named after the shape  of two peninsulas looking like the rudder or "Takood" in Thai. Some said that name was distorted from Good, the admiration from the foreign tourists. Koh Kood is a sub-district (King Amphor) composed of 3 islands which are Koh Kood, Koh Rad and Koh Mai Si. The main industry of islands is fishery and agriculture. When you enter Koh Kood, you can see coconut and rubber plantation in abundance. Besides, there are school, sanitarium, police station and other station.


     All facility and amenities are available on the west of Koh Kood. Buying a package tour from the resort is more economical than traveling by self as the package tour includes accommodation, meal, boat service, excursion service and diving at Moo Koh Rang. You can tour around the island by hiring a motocycle. By the way, you should be careful while riding because some part of the road are graveled.

Location: Located to the west of Koh Chang, at the front of Kai Bae Beach.
How to get there: There is no passenger boat to these three islands. Most of tourists travel in a kayak from Kai Bae beach to admire the island in close distance.
        From Kai Bae beach of Koh Chang, you can see these three small islands. The islands are covered with forest;three is no space to take a walk or relax. If you want to admire the view of the islands, you can drive to the viewpoint on the hillside before reaching Lonely beach.

 BAN KLONG SON
After the ferry coming into Dan Kao pier, Koh Chang, if you turn right towords the west, you will find Ban Klong Son first. Located on the north of Koh Chang, 3 km. away from Supparod pier, Ban Klong Son is the largest community of Koh Chang and considered as the gate to the west beaches. It can be divided into the upper part and lower part. Things to do when you are in the upper part are riding an elephant at mahout village. 1 km. beyond the mahout village is the site of Chao Luaem waterfall. Thing to do when you are in the lower part are floating along Son bay, watching the firmflies, visiting Koh Mapring, Koh Chang Noi, fishing, squid fishing, etc. Today, Ban Klong Som is verry popular among the tourists as it's an ideal site for eco-tourism.
